Breathtaking...

Image
This picture stopped me in my tracks when I saw it. The natural color combinations are breathtaking!! I love navy blue as a main color and yellow as an accent! What are your thoughts? I used a color similar to this from C2 called Brigand in my half bath and I'm still in love with it!!

Greige

Image
Okay friends, I have this talk daily while at work...DAILY. In case you didn't know, I live in North Dakota and in ND it feels like winter 9 months out of the year! Maybe that's an exaggeration But truthfully when it does snow, it doesn't melt. It is cold enough here for the snow to stick around for awhile. Ok ok moving on...the trend that's still hitting hard up here is gray. Grays are hard no matter what because of how they change with lighting but can be difficult especially when you want gray to feel warm. So here's my spiel, if I said it once I'll say it again- builder beige from 10 years ago→ 'Greige' BM Stone Hearth →traditional "cooler" gray            GOLD                                                                                    ...

Mirror Gallery Wall

Image
Our Sterling Carpet One showroom finally has some new jewelry and I'm here to showcase it! Lots of hands were involved in choosing the color, painting the wall, ordering a new hanging system and finally, adding the mirrors! Meet our new Mirror gallery wall...(drum roll please) AFTER Isn't she pretty!! That is color #789 Voodoo from C2 and the color is stunningly perfect!!! We also had our electrician come in and add some nearby spot lighting - Okay so maybe I'm being a little dramatic. Would it help if you got to see the before? BEFORE You really should stop in to our Grand Forks location if you can, to see all it's glory in person! We of course have lots of other mirror selections and displays throughout the store but I love the way this wall stands out now!!! What do you think?

July color of the month

Image
This month the 15th falls on a Sunday so my post is a little early but that doesn't falter my excitement for this months color! This hot summer month of July I chose another C2 color called SECRET #547. It is a soft blush that we are seeing coming up the ladder of trends ie.Lighting. I like that this color can be paired with soft whites or bold graphics and have two completely different looks. I think this feminine color would be perfect in a sunroom with a lot of natural light or even in your half bath with artificial lighting. Stop in today to our grand forks location and take a peek at this subtle beauty!

Master Bedroom

Image
wall mounted lights accent pillow Silhoutte by Hunter Douglas       I distinctly remember years and years ago I watched an Oprah episode where she mentioned that the one room often left for last in a remodel is one of the most important, your master bedroom. Through all the years this piece of advice has stuck with me. In my current home I have recently recovered the headboard and my husband has stabilized the bed. Meaning we vetoed the bed frame and screwed the headboard to the wall. We've had the room painted the same greige for years and I still love it so no change there. My husband has also added faux beams to the room which helps tie the rest of the home in and add some warmth to the space. The window treatments were an investment almost right away when we bought the house because we replaced all the windows and we were able to take two windows and replace them with one large window instead. The window treatments are from Hunter Douglas and are definit...

Ever heard of C2???

Image
My PPG rep Cullen Wolff was visiting our store location today from Sioux Falls and he seemed to notice I mention a lot of his competitors product, Benjamin Moore in past posts. So I told him I would mention his product too just to be fair. C2 is a smaller paint company that distributes their paint through Pittsburgh Paints (PPG). I've been selling Benjamin Moore paint for 8 years now and I've learned a few things along the way. They have several paint lines to choose from (ie:Classic, Preview, Affinity, Color Stories, etc) giving us thousands of colors to choose from, BM users are very loyal, and you get what you pay for when it comes to paint.  We've tried some other brands in the past (Ralph Lauren, Manor Hall) but nothing has excited me like C2. They are a company about COLOR! C2 was started by chemists who understand pigments and their properties and their collection only contains 496 colors. All of their offered colors mirror colors found in the natural world wh...
